EtiKids provides FUNdamental life skills to children and parents in a unique and developmentally appropriate manner. A sensory approach is used to ensure that children are able to participate and succeed in their natural environments, including home, school, and community.
Occupational Therapy treatments include but not limited to: Timocco, sensory integration, aquatic therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, The Listening Program, yoga, Wilbarger Brushing Protocol, Astronaut Training Program, Rhythmic Movement Training, and social skills training.
Parenting / Parent&Me classes focus on creating a sensory-rich environment to stimulate cognitive, physical, and social and emotional growth of their child. Sessions are designed to create awareness of developmental milestones through age-appropriate play and interventions. Parents, caregivers, and children (infants through toddlers) join together to discuss, learn and engage in a variety of simulated experiences. Topics include selecting toys and equipment, positions to increase proprioceptive and vestibular development, and exercises to foster physical growth and learning.
Innovative Social Skills classes are created by an Occupational Therapist, using a sensory-based component and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. Children are encouraged to use their own senses of touch, taste, smell, sight and sound. The positive behaviors learned in each class are integrated as life-long skills to practice and apply in their daily lives. As a well-mannered person is recognized and acknowledged, having greater opportunities and potential for leadership, EtiKids is an investment in your child’s future!
EtiKids classes have been featured in private schools, summer camps, enrichment classes, and playgroups throughout New York City and New Jersey. Workshops have also been provided to organizations throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
